Yoshinoya Introduces Solo Nabe Restaurants For Lone Diners

A restaurant designed exclusively for dining alone opened in Chiyoda ward of Tokyo recently, serving nabe (hot pot) to customers on their own private stove.

“Ichinabeya” was opened by Yoshinoya, the cheap gyuudon (beef bowl) restaurant chain loved by salarymen’s wallets, hated by their taste buds. They hope to open ten of these restaurants around Japan in the next three years.

The move is most likely aimed at lunching office workers, but if you just happen to have no friends you’ll also be able to take advantage of the offer. Then, after finishing your nabe, you can go home and sing on your own with a karaoke cup.

Who needs friends?
