Cat Gets Banned from 7-11 for Repeatedly Stealing Food

Over the past 15 years, Japan has seen the number of elderly shoplifters multiply by ten, but now it appears an entirely new demographic of petty criminals is on the rise: cats.

One 7-11 in the Kanto region recently posted the following sign in an effort to bring a certain pilfering feline to justice.

Translation: "Please don't feed this cat. It enters the store and steals cat food. We told the cat that it was banned but it didn't listen" (pic: @mememe_sh)

Thankfully, during this time of crisis the Japanese public have banded together to put an end to the crime spree, retweeting the picture above almost twenty thousand times in an effort to spread awareness.

In the interests of objectivity, Tokyo Desu would like to point out that the majority of Japanese cats are law-abiding and many even have gainful employment as cat cafe staff, mascots and sushi cats.
