Giant Gundam Statue to Be Replaced

The 18m-tall Gundam in Odaiba, Tokyo, is set to be replaced by an updated version that can move and do stuff (this is literally all that has been decided so far).

Organisers have appealed to the public for suggestions regarding what movements the new sprightlier model should be capable of, and hope to finish construction by summer 2019 – just in time for the series 40th anniversary. All of your wildly unrealistic ideas (“He should shoot lasers from his eyes and fire candy from his gun! Oh, oh, and FLY!!”) need to be submitted by February 27th, 2015 to be taken into consideration.

We personally suggest that Tokyo would be much better served with an extra Gundam (rather than a replacement) to battle each other, as well as any unforeseen threats to the city’s stability.
