The Soccer Samurai, who amazed us with his freestyle football skills during the 2014 World Cup, is back in a new commercial for Nissin Noodles. This time he’s visiting Manchester as Nissin are Manchester United’s “official global noodle partner” (Tokyo Desu also considers itself Manchester United’s unofficial “global Japanese news and humour website partner”).
The video begins with him impressing locals on the street before he looks out over Manchester United’s stadium, Old Trafford, perhaps wondering if their growing injury list might get him a game. Suddenly his ball is stolen, which might not seem like such a twist in Manchester until the camera pans to reveal the thieves aren’t a couple of scallies, but ninjas! Shit.
It all turns out ok though, as they decide to have a football freestyle-off at Old Trafford, as is tradition between feuding gangs in Manchester.
