Wasabi, like Tabasco sauce, seems to be one of those spicy condiments that’s nigh-impossible to hate.
So it was only a matter of time before a company in Japan – where residents are obsessed with both – came up with the brilliant idea of combining the convenience of Tabasco with the nose-searing burnyness of wasabi.
Before Wasafuru came around, it was highly inadvisable to attempt putting wasabi on anything other than sushi, since you’ll usually just end up peppering your food in massive, stomach-destroying landmines of wasabi clumps. But with Wasafuru, you can safely pour your desired amount of wasabi onto any food without having to stop sporadically to do the nose-bridge pinch (why does that even work, anyway?).
Wasafuru also scores points with ease of use, as it comes in a bottle that’s almost copyright-infringingly identical to Tabasco, meaning for most of us the proper pour is already muscle memory.
We’ll try to post a link to purchase this for international shipping if we find one!
