Pictures: Iwatayama Monkey Park, Kyoto

One of the main tourist attractions in Kyoto – once you’ve walked around the 346th incredible temple of your visit – is Arashiyama Bamboo grove. The grove itself ultimately disappointing, it’s much smaller than you’d imagine from pictures posted online and any sense of tranquility is continually stomped on by the crowds, but what saves any trip to Arashiyama is the beautiful Iwatayama Monkey Park, where almost 200 macaques spend the day lazing around in front of one of the best views of Kyoto.
